At the start of any design or build project we always ask our clients how they are planning on using their garden (other than for sitting in).
The top five things people want are:
- Entertaining space: With areas for a BBQ, sun loungers, hot tub and firepit for colder nights
- Children’s play area
- Plants for screening
- Display sculpture
- Grow your own: Fruit orchards and vegetable allotments
However, we also get some more unusual requests such as an outdoor kitchen and fully equipped, chalet style bar.
Then there are those quirky little features we come across on initial visits (a bathtub, chickens and an adult size tree house to name a few!) Sometimes our clients want to incorporate these into the new design rather than do away with them and this is what makes each project unique.
