Our client asked for soft, Mediterranean style planting for year-round interest and colour inspired by his time spent in Majorca.
This planting style focuses on creating a warm, relaxed, and aromatic garden that thrives in conditions similar to the Mediterranean basin (hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters), often emphasising drought-tolerance and sensory experience.
Key Plants and Features
- Aromatic Herbs – Essential for fragrance and cooking. Plant them near paths or seating areas to release their scent when brushed.
- Structural Trees and Shrubs – Provide year-round form and classic silhouettes.
- Drought-Tolerant Flowering Plants – For bursts of colour that can handle the heat.
- Climbing Plants – Used to provide shade and fragrance on pergolas or walls.
